THE PHONOAUTOMAT

The Phonoautomat is an ongoing project utilizing the Scamper recording Camper in collaboration with the Idlefield Art Lab. Similar to a photo-booth, The Phonoautomat is an instant recording booth where participants can record anything they want for 5 minutes and it will be duplicated onto four cassette tapes.

The project has appeared at Sappyfest (NB) 2022, Hold Fast (NL) 2023 and Lawnya Vawnya (NL 2025 and has resulted in a large archive of fun and spontaneous recordings.
